Wall art can take on many forms. One clever decorating option is the use of vases as wall art. Once used solely on tables and counters, vases were, and still are, a great decorating tool, because of their versatility and style.

Incorporating vases into wall art offers decorators the opportunity to draw the eye and around the walls before resting on a lower focal point. Using vases as wall art can also incorporate a variety of useful decorating materials as they hang, drape, and are nestled in the vase confines.

Single Flowers for Interior Design Simplicity

A single flower peeking from a wall vase speaks of innocence and an uncluttered space. Gerber Daisies are one of the most common flowers to be used on their own as a focal point in a vase. In a wall vase, the Gerber Daisy adds color, texture and softness to the room.

A trio of hanging wall vases, each with a single white flower speaks of simplicity and grace. Single flowers are also easy and inexpensive to change out to create different looks. If real flowers are not an option, opt for high-quality silk flowers that give the appearance of a real flower bud.

Use Flower Bouquets to Liven up a Room

Bouquets of flowers nestled into a triangular wall vase positioned on either side of a fireplace or mirror adds joy and color to a room. Flowers bring life into any space, and a bouquet of them speaks to abundance and happiness. Choose colors that are bright and cheerful to tie together a multi-colored family room.

For a more sophisticated living room decorated in French toile, consider a bouquet of white mums or daisies. No mater what colors are used, a bouquet of flowers will instantly brighten and enliven any space.

Greenery

Greenery trailing over the sides of a wall vase is a typical image of vase wall art. Ivy is the most common silk greenery used, because of its natural elegance and ability to hang gracefully. If using greenery, be sure that it looks and feels as real as possible. This will create a more authentic look than if an inexpensive and inferior piece of silk greenery is used.

Use Candles to Create a Relaxing, Romantic Atmosphere

Sometimes using wall vases in unconventional ways provides the most exciting wall art. For clear glass wall vases, add a handful of glass beads to the bottom of the vase and top them with a colorful and aromatic candle. A short pillar candle will usually work best as it offers a depth that pillar and votive candles simply cannot provide.

For semi-opaque glass wall vases, any type of candle will work well. If it is possible and safe to light the candle, it will produce a soft, romantic glow that will bounce off of the glass and the wall behind it. Not only will the lighting be beautiful, but the candle will provide a delightful aroma in the room.

Using vases as wall art is an inexpensive way to add a powerful visual impact to a room with little effort. Hanging the vase will typically take more time than maintaining it. Experiment with different vase fillers and do not be afraid to try new wall art looks.
