If its time to sell your home, you may be faced with having to make it visually appealing. Provided that youve kept up with all major maintenance on the home, you now have to kick start the potential for your home to sell, and the only way to do that is to make it look good.
You wouldnt buy a car with a filthy interior, and people arent going to buy an investment property for sale when the inside just doesnt look appealing.
Here are three ways to spruce up your homes interior in an effort to get the quick sell.
Wall Décor
Nothing is more inviting to a home than walls that are enhanced with various types of décor. Consider mounting several subtle paintings on your walls. If the colors of each room are fairly consistent, each painting adds a little bit of flare to a room.
The use of large decorative mirrors will give your home a larger look as well. Remove photos and pictures with loud bright colors that take away from the general ambiance of a room.
Consider adding uneven shelving to take away the symmetry of a room and give it some excitement. Mounting your flat screen TV to the wall makes it a painting in itself, and removes cluttered wires that would otherwise be an eyesore in a room.
Use uplighting and wash lights to make sure that no part of the room is left in the dark.
Decorative Pillows and Throws
If youve got several couches and furnishings, you can give them additional appeal by adding simple pillows. Make sure to pick colors and patterns that stand out from the couch themselves to give the room a comfortable look and feel.
This takes away from any boring colors and themes that a room is set to and adds vibrancy to the furniture that is already there. Additionally, if youve got older couches and love seats, a simply throw will help bring the room back to life a bit, without having to replace the furniture just to sell your home.
Area Rugs
An area rug is an inexpensive way to give a pattern to an otherwise plain floor. While hardwood flooring is pleasant to look it, it can often create a bland look to a room.
An area rug that covers about 75% of the floor space will have an inviting taste to it. It also gives a room dweller a comfortable sitting area. Ideally, when picking out an area rug, try to pick a color thats different from the furnishings in a specific room.
Be sure it still matches what you already have in there, so that it doesnt take away from the other features. Regardless of the direction that you choose to go with interior decorations, keep in mind that other elements of a room will often fight for the attention of the eye.
You dont want anything too loud thats going to take away from other comfortable features that youve already placed in each room of your home.
